Grammy-winning indie rock giants The National from Cincinnati, Ohio will be in town for their first Winnipeg appearance on July 21 at the Burton Cummings Theatre. They’ll be touring their eighth studio album, I Am Easy to Find, which Pitchfork describes as “their largest, longest, and most daring.”

It was their third studio album, Alligator, released in 2005 that garnered the band widespread critical acclaim. This led them to a Grammy nomination with their sixth studio album, Trouble Will Find Me and a Grammy win in 2017 for Best Alternative Music Album with the release of Sleep Well Beast.

In addition to The National, indie rock singer-songwriter Lucy Dacus will support the Canadian tour. Dacus began creating a name for herself since the release of her first album No Burden in 2016. She then went on to form supergroup boygenius with Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker.

The National has partnered with PLUS1 to support Action Canada for Sexual Health and Rights and their work advancing and upholding sexual and reproductive health and rights in Canada and worldwide.
