Serena Ryder continues to break new ground on all musical fronts with her 2012 release, Harmony achieving Gold-selling status in just a few short months and then sky-rocketing to her first platinum album certification shortly after. The trailblazing, infectious lead single, “Stompa” is currently triple platinum and the equally anthemic follow-up track, “What I Wouldn’t Do” raced to the top of the radio airwaves top 10 lists across all formats and double platinum. Testament to the depth of Harmony, the album’s third single, “Fall” is currently a mainstay at radio.
Ryder is quickly becoming a radio sensation south of the border too, with massive radio airplay and topping the U.S. Triple A charts.
On the 2013 music awards front, Ryder has had a banner year with two knock-out live performances at The Juno Awards in Regina (solo ”Stompa” & a killer Billy Talent collaboration) and took home her fourth Juno for Adult Alternative Album of The Year. At The 2013 MuchMusic Video Awards, Serena earned herself three nominations and added more hardware to her trophy collection, winning Rock / Alternative Video of The Year and then went on to perform a stellar live medley of her two hits, “What I Wouldn’t Do” & “Stompa”.
Produced by Emmy/Grammy nominated producer / songwriter / musician Jerrod Bettis (Gavin Degraw, Better Than Ezra) and producer / songwriter / musician Jon Levine (K’naan, Nelly Furtado), Harmony is poised to continue to break new ground for Ryder through 2013 and beyond.
Ryder is adored by fans, peers and critics alike due mainly in part to her immense natural songwriting talent and beautifully electric live performances. Over the years, she has garnered many other accolades including three prestigious Juno Awards that include: 2008 New Artist of The Year, 2009 Adult Alternative Album of The Year (Is It O.K.) and 2010 Video of The Year (Little Bit of Red).
Ryder is no stranger to sales success over the years with If Your Memory Serves You Well (2007) and Is it O.K. (2009) both achieving Gold selling status and her single “Weak In The Knees” also achieved Gold Certification in 2012.
The 2014 awards season isn’t slowing down for Ryder as accolades continue to pour in:
WINNER Canadian Screen Award (March 2014), alongside Jimmy Harry for Achievement in Music – Original Song. “It’s No Mistake,” from the movie The Right Kind of Wrong,
FIVE 2014 Juno nominations received five nominations (taking place March 30), Juno Fan Choice Award, Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year and will be co-hosting the national broadcast along with two stellar live performances planned.
TWO nominations for The Canadian Radio Music Awards (taking place May 7) SOCAN Song Of The Year “Stompa” & Fan Choice Award
